About NVLL

Niceville Valparaiso Little League is so thankful to have over 200 volunteers each spring season - we couldn't do this without each and everyone of you!

As part of our affiliation with Little League International there are a few steps our volunteers must complete before the spring season begins.

First, who is a volunteer? Managers, assistant coaches, team parents and board members fall into this category.

What is the first thing I must do in order to volunteer with NVLL? Register on Sports Connect via this link. Here you can sign up to be a manager, assistant manager or team parent. This process is similar to registering your player. Please ensure that the email you use to register is your most checked email address. This will be very important for league communication. *Check spam and mark nvllb.com AND bluesombrero.com as "safe" to ensure you receive important updates from NVLL.

What is next? When you sign up using Sports Connect you will be contacted by our league safety officer about filling out a formal background check. This is a requirement for all volunteers with NVLL. Is there more? Yes, yes there is. The next step in the process is to complete Abuse Awareness Training.
Instructions to complete Abuse Awareness Training:
1. Visit USA Baseball HERE. You will need to register for an account if you do not already have one.
2. Once logged in, scroll down to "Abuse Awareness for Adults" and select "Coach "A" Certification". It takes less than 30 minutes to complete the training.
3. Take the 10-question quiz at the end, you must score 80% or above to pass.
4. Upload your certificate (which will be e-mailed to you) as a .jpg/screenshot to your profile on the NVLLB website (you are on it right now)
5. Login to the nvllb.com website, at the top right hand corner of the screen highlight over your profile icon and select "account"
6. Scroll down to "my roles and certificates" and select the edit "pen" icon next to your name
7. Scroll down to "training certifications" and upload your certificate as a .jpg.

If you are selected to be a tournament coach, you will also complete the Little League Diamond Leader Training Program.
